I don’t ask what’s wrong with you?
My aim is to hear, see and understand you without judgment.
In sessions I seek to attune and attend to your deeply felt or buried unresolved trauma which is frequently held in the body. I pay particular attention to the non-verbals of the body (facial expressions, gestures, movements, breathing and emotions) that say so much more than words. Together, we become aware of habitual patterns of interaction that may have been survivals strategies in the past and now no longer serve you. We slow down to a point of being where you can respond rather than react. Together we move towards greater ease, freedom and growth.

My approach is grounded in a self-psychology/inter-subjectivity and draws on embodiment, infant research, attachment and trauma theory and mediation. At a practical level, this means creating safety and stabilising emotions first! I aim to tune into the client's felt experience in the HERE and NOW through focusing on their body's senses, emotions and non-verbal cues (the right brain pathways) as well as the words and story (left brain logic).
I also offer supervision and group therapy sessions using an embodied relational lens.
Through IOSP my team and I offer individual and corporate training in bringing a somatic lens to the therapy practice.
More recently I have been asked to speak to health practitioners at conferences and professional development days on various topics ranging from:
- How to come back to being present?
- Addressing anxiety, trauma from an embodied perspective.
- What is a “normal” body?
- Living with a disability.
